Dispute Resolution

Mediation is one option the goal being a neutral third party mediates to help the disputants come to a consensus on their own. Arbitration differs from mediation in that a neutral third party serves as a judge who is responsible for resolving the dispute. Disputants can negotiate any aspect of the arbitration process but the arbitrators hand down decisions that are usually confidential and binding on the parties.

We only ever recommend to clients to go to litigation as a last resort and that they should explore other avenues of resolution first. The process of gathering information and evidence is set out by the court and the court sets the timescales and decides what it is going to hear as evidence and what it is not to hear. In other words, neither the client, their lawyer or the other party have control over the proceedings-the judge does!
Patent Search & Registration

Prior to filing a patent application, we conduct an extensive prior art search using patent databases to determine if the concept of an invention is novel and non-obvious. We then draft and file a patent application with the relevant registration authority after your approval.
After a patent application is filed, the patent registration process begins. The application is placed in a queue with a Patent Examiner that specializes in the field of the invention. After examination, any of the following may be issued or necessary in going through the patent registration process.
